چکیده
Operational and planning challenges caused by ever-increasing integration of electronically coupled renewable distributed energy resources (DERs) have become a reality all over the globe. These range from technical constraint violations to malfunctional setting coordination protective equipment inaccurate operational planning. Moreover, enable preconditions for high penetration DERs, utilities are faced with potentially huge investment requirements in strengthening grid assets. However, recent advances specialized software solutions active management DERs could turn these into monetary benefits. Hence, if planned, managed, operated an optimal way, be valuable resource increasing efficiency overall distribution grids. Utility systems (utility DERMSs) aim provide capabilities integrated single solution. In this paper, utility DERMS concept is introduced, state-of-the-art helping key stakeholders pave way towards stable, optimal, secure emerging explored.

High penetration of renewable energy poses a significant challenge in operation of power system. A potential solution for this problem is utilizing Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The purpose of this paper is to analyze the effectiveness of BESS ability to peak shave and smooth the load curve of an actual circuit on the island of Maui in Hawaii. The distribution circuit has about 850 kW o...
